Welcome!
The Nursing Knowledge Big Data Science (NKBDS) Initiative maintains this publicly-accessible online repository for use by anyone seeking informatics resources. The NKBDS Initiative brings together nurse leaders and informaticists from public and private institutions and organizations across the United States and beyond to utilize their unique knowledge to solve critical problems in health care. The NKBDS Initiative’s mission is to:
- Generate and enable nursing insights and evidence to support individuals, families, communities, and populations in the promotion of health and the delivery of health care; and
- Leverage informatics and data to redefine and magnify the value of nursing in all settings. The NKBDS Initiative’s Framework to Improve Health and Healthcare captures and represents all major aspects of the initiative, its vision and mission.
Organized into workgroups to address these issues, members meet throughout the year, culminating in an annual conference each June in Minneapolis. Much of what you see here includes resources created by NKBDS workgroups. However, anyone is welcomed to submit a new resource by using our submission form.
For more information about the initiative, please visit our website, which includes detailed information on workgroups. If you are interested in joining a workgroup or have any questions, please contact nursingbigdata@umn.edu.
